2018 National Finals
Among the National Finalists at the 2018 Spelling Bee Nigeria finals in Lagos-Nigeria were these two young spellers who represented Akwa Ibom:

2017 National Finals!
The spelling bee has been one of the tools educators have used to encourage learning of the English language. It has helped in building confidence and improving effective communication skills among children.
Representing Akwa Ibom State at the 2017 National Finals, we had:
ABIGAIL SAMUEL UMOH – a student of Maryland Prestigious Int’l Sec. School, Uyo and winner of the State Spelling Bee organized by I-Spell Challenge; and
ROYALE KELECHI ONYEAMA.
The duo had the opportunity to interact with other spellers from different states across Nigeria.

2016 National Finals!
Our winners from 2015 were sponsored to the 2016 National Spelling Bee Finals held in Ikeja, Lagos. The competition organized by Young Educators Foundation, franchise holders of the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Nigeria, drew nine (9) states of the Federation and the FCT.
